The sixth grade social studies curriculum focuses on a study of people and places of the world from a variety of historic eras. Students will grasp the relevance of the study by connecting the past to their present and possibly their future. The study of world history for sixth grade students is constructed within a chronological framework. This helps reinforce the essential understandings of time, continuity, and change, and helps build a conceptual scaffold for future study.
