Thursday, February 25, 2010. In Spray painting is black a good primer for a metallic color over it? I am painting a plastic helmet a gold color with black accents. The Fusion products made for painting on plastic and bonding dont carry any metallic colors. Will the color be overly muted because of the black? I would say that black is not a good color.
