Friday, November 7, 2008. Halloween in Girdwood is a little different. Not much trick or treating, but a great school carnival and costume show at the little elementary school. The boys and I headed out to the school for the carnival this year. Hard to believe that Ely is 4! We had the party out at Nissman pavillion by the baseball field and forest fair park. And thankfully it was sunny that day. It was chaos, but fun! Its been a while.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011. So I have been given the privilege of spending a year living and working in a Benedictine Community in rural Tanzania. Being here can be exciting, filled with new experiences I would never have at home. It can also be involve lots of down time and frustration trying to plan anything. One thing this time has given me is a lot of time to reflect. Getting to know the students in Hanga has been one of the most rewarding parts of being in Tanzania.
