This is the display I made for my pest ring collection. I wanted to make a display that would let me show the intricacy of these rings, that is why I decided on the thin wire. I used the rough wood to link to, or reference the roughness of the shanks. I also like how the wood grounds the pieces. Moth cycle drawing, out of visual journal. This is the process I use, while converting my drawings onto shell.
