The Crawley Mela has been in existence since 1989. Originally a summer festival organised by Crawley Borough Council with the support of local Asian and African communities, it was coordinated and hosted by The Hawth Theatre. However as Council funding and resources became scarcer over the years, more of the administrative responsibility was taken up directly by community volunteers. To play an active and continuing role in local communities and schools;.

Crawley is minutes away from the M23 motorway which links to the M25. The Hawth is well signposted on all major routes into the town. There is free car parking on site for 250 cars.
