Addiction and Recovery are the main themes in all my work. These two topics have had a profound impact on my life. My strong emotions for these topics come naturally to me in my work. Almost anything can be made to represent one of the two. Life is like one big decision. We can choose to remain addicts, or we can choose recovery.

For this project, I wanted to do something similar to this picture. The artist of the original is Banksy. I really liked that the blood splatter turns into the butterflies and I wanted to base my project off of it. Art is a form of rebellion.

Brenna Rife AP Studio Art 2016-2017. My inspirations are some of the most colorful, exuberant, beautiful people out there. Though I enjoy trying new mediums, nothing will ever surpass my enjoyment of graphite and ink. Nothing to me quite compares to the freedom that art gives me. I can express whatever I want, without even using words! .
